After 20 years in Long Beach, Pacific Oaks College & Children’s School is pleased to have the BEST Arts (Building Educational Success through the Arts) Conference join the Pacific Oaks family. The conference will now be administered by Pacific Oaks College’s School of Education under the direction of Core Faculty Dr. Judy Krause. This year’s conference will be held at Pasadena City College on Saturday, April 4, 2020. As we celebrate 21 years of BEST Arts, it will continue to be an exceptional experience, highlighting the visual and performing arts in early childhood education.
The conference is a wonderful networking and learning experience for all participants, and features workshops and speakers, along with vendors displaying products addressing the arts, literacy, movement, cultural diversity, and inclusion.
Featured presenters include: Eric Nelson, Co-Founder and Director of Consulting and Professional Development of the Child Educational Center; Susan Wood, Executive Director of the Children’s Center at Caltech and founder of the Early Childhood Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (ECSTEM) Conference; and Ann Reyner, a nationally recognized arts advocate, arts therapist, and licensed marriage and family therapist. Nelson and Wood are both alumni of Pacific Oaks College. Nelson earned an M.A. in Human Development while Wood received her M.A. in Child Development.
A new component of the conference will our new Leadership Day. Designed with Community College Faculty and ECE Administrators in mind, Leadership Day will take place on Friday, April 3, 2020 at the Pasadena campus of Pacific Oaks College.
